Parents & Singers
Welcome to the Northfield Youth Choirs!
We are thrilled that you have joined us! In the NYC, you will discover the pure joy of music and your own creative potential. By singing high-quality repertoire from a wide variety of musical styles, you develop vocal and musical skills which lead to informed, expressive, and moving performances. Through active participation in a positive environment, you will experience the joys of singing, teamwork, musical understanding, and artistic expression, enhancing your life in a multitude of ways.
A note to parents:
NYC parents play a vital role in the success of our programs. Parents can enhance their child’s personal contribution by reading weekly e-newsletters; updating your calendars when necessary; helping your child to be punctual at rehearsals and performances; and helping your child to review and memorize music when necessary.Volunteering:
The NYC is a volunteer supported organization and we know we would be in hot water without the help of our talented and dedicated parents! We ask that all parents fill out a Parent Volunteer Form, indicating those areas where you would feel comfortable donating your time or talents to the organization. And don’t worry…by completing the form, you’re not committing yourself to anything. You’ll be contacted by the NYC volunteer coordinator to confirm your availability as the event/task approaches.
NYC e-newsletter, News and Notes:
During the regular choral season, every NYC household receives our weekly email newsletter, NYC News and Notes. This is our primary mode of communication with families, so if you are not getting this weekly email during the choir season, you will miss important information. We suggest that you add the email address newsletter@northfieldyouthchoirs.org to your contact list to avoid our emails going into your spam folder. If your family doesn’t have access to email, let the office know so that we can mail you a copy of the newsletter.
