  • Returning this summer Encore! What a Character!

Encore! What a Character! is a week-long experience in musical theater fun. What can participants expect? A supportive atmosphere for developing as performers and expressive, confident individuals. In addition to vocal training, young performers will build skills in dance, movement, stage presence and character development–both onstage and off. The end result is an actual show…and everyone gets a part! Rehearsals and activities are led by artistic staff members Liz Shepley, Jana Schomburg and Rachel Haider.  Visit our registration page for more information.

  • Love to Sing? Join us for our next season!

The motto of the Northfield Youth Choirs—Find Your Voice!—supports the staff’s belief that musical ability is something that all children possess. “A child is a fire to be lit,” founder Cora Scholz has said, paraphrasing Rabelais. “Not a vase to be filled.” In weekly rehearsals, fall and winter retreats, performances, visits to retirement centers, and tours, the young people in the Northfield Youth Choirs are continually discovering the wonder and beauty of the universe, themselves, and one another, while sharing their gifts with their audiences.

NYC will register new and returning singers on Tue., Aug. 17th from 4 to 8 pm (no appointment is needed) at Bethel Lutheran Church (1321 North Ave., Northfield).  No experience is necessary.  All are welcome!
