Northfield Youth Choirs

It’s the time of year when we begin thinking about summer activities. If you’re entering grades 3-9, consider making NYC’s Musical Theater Workshop a part of your plans! Auditions will be held July 24th, 3 to 6 p.m., at Liz’s house. Call 664-9335 for an appointment. The dates of the summer workshop will be Aug. 20-24. Thursday evening rehearsals continue after school begins: Sept. 6 - Nov. 8, from 6:15 to 8 p.m. Dinner theater performances are schedule for Nov. 10 and 11. The cost for registered NYC singers is $145. Limited scholarships will be available. For more information, contact the NYC office at 664-9335.

At Monday’s rehearsals, singers were given an order form for Goodbye Blue Monday coffee sales. This is a wonderful fundraising opportunity for NYC–this delicious coffee is EASY to sell–and will operate on the “girl scout cookie model.” Coffee forms will be due back to NYC by April 19th and the coffee will be delivered to singers on Sat., May 5th at our concert rehearsal.

Parents: Please note that our Spring Sing/Pizza Party has been rescheduled for Mon., April 30th, during our regular rehearsal time, at the Northfield Care Center (NCC). Singers, wear your NYC polos to school! Full concert attire is not necessary–jeans (no holes please!) are fine. The singers will be bused to NCC, rather than St. John’s, that day. If you deliver your child to rehearsal, please bring them (wearing an NYC polo) to NCC instead (use chapel doors). The singers will perform for the NCC residents and our NYC families at 4:30. A pizza party for the singers begins at 5 p.m. Please send $3 with your singer to cover the cost. Singers will be ready to go home between 5:15 and 5:30.
